Karibu in Stroud is a vibrant vegan bar and restaurant with a rich history. Starting as the street food stall Indie Veggie, it toured the UK and built a loyal following. Charismatic plant-food champion Sandeep Kanabar established Karibu as his first permanent location. The menu features international plant-based cuisine inspired by Sandeep’s Kenyan childhood and travels across Asia and South America. Dishes are made from fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients. Karibu supports local businesses, sourcing craft beers from Stroud Brewery and gin from Sibling Distillery. The eco-conscious ethos is evident in the use of reclaimed materials, recycling efforts, and biodegradable packaging. “Karibu” means “Welcome” in Swahili, and the enthusiastic staff ensure every guest feels warmly embraced.
